Seuss Fastest in Final ARCA Practice

Bright and early under the clear blue Daytona Beach skies, ARCA ran its final practice of the weekend. Only 23 cars participated but topping the board was 2-time Whelen Southern Modified Tour Champion Andy Seuss. The 31-year-old New Hampshire native has races part-time in ARCA at the restrictor plate races for the last several years. His best performance came in 2017 at Talladega when he came 2nd to Justin Haley by 0.128 seconds.

Andy Hillenburg’s team has been having some issues during the weekend. Their 3 cars have all experienced problems. The #1 car scraped the wall in Thursday’s practice as well as the #11 blowing an engine, and then today the #10 car stalled towards the end of the session. Still plenty of time before Qualifying at 3:30pm ET to sort out the setbacks, but be sure to watch how they might overcome it all by Saturday night’s race.

A notable absent car in practice was the #54 DGR-Crosley Toyota of Natalie Decker. According to the team’s Twitter, she was run up into the wall during Thursday’s practice and had some damage that needed to be fixed. Another car experiencing trouble was the #69 Ford of Scott Melton for Kimmel Racing. The car seemed to blow an engine about 30 minutes into the hour-long session.
